In 2012 I took a trip to China and was fascinated by the two and three-wheeled bicycles and motorcycles. Part 1 includes photos of Chinese bikes and trikes which you can see here. Part 2 focuses mainly on motorcycles, or more correctly, motorcycles and the ilk. Why the donkey? Well, as you’ll see, both the donkey and a cargo motorcycle are getting melons to market. It just seemed to fit.
I was amazed at how much work can be accomplished with very small displacement engines powering the three-wheeled taxi and cargo motorcycles. Take a look…

A three-wheeled cargo motorcycle doubles as a watermelon stand. Note the scale at the back. (Changchun)

Okay, a donkey cart is not exactly a motorcycle, but it still gets the melons to market. Donkey carts travel on the roads with all the other traffic. (Changchun)

Zongshen three-wheeled cargo motorcycle carrying a heavy load of water bottles. Note the rain protection. (Changchun)

Xia Xing three-wheeled cargo motorcycle. The engine looks a bit like a Honda Super Cub’s. (Cuandixa)
